Over 800 Acres of Pristine Forest
Song of the Morning - A Yoga Retreat of Excellence
YogaFest is held on the sacred grounds of Song of the Morning, a retreat that is open 365 days a year to offer spiritual sanctuary and refreshment for all truth thirsty souls. Song of the Morning offers an opportunity to become immersed in the simplicity, serenity and sustenance of a balanced yogic lifestyle. We offer a place of spiritual refreshment and relaxation to those on a conscious spiritual journey toward union with the Divine, to those hoping to discover their own highest potential – and to all who seek respite from the worries and cares of the world.
Song of the Morning holds sacred space for weekend retreats throughout the year, and YogaFest can be understood as a culmination of all these weekends. All of the presenters, facilitators or musicians featured at YogaFest contribute in their own way to the mission of Song of the Morning.
Together we present YogaFest as a way to express our gratitude for everything that Song of the Morning offers to us year round. Learn more about Song of the Morning here.
Each of our six hiking trails lead to a serene opening in the forest where a bench and small wooden shrine honors a guru or historical spot. Whether it's the long and winding Lake Shrine Trail or our newest trail past the Platform that leads on a more adventurous trek, there are over 13 miles of cleared trails to explore. There will be opportunities to explore the grounds on your own, and guided hikes will be offered during the festival.
Cool off on the banks of the Pigeon River, which runs directly through Song of the Morning and the festival grounds. Or take a trip to the nearby - and positively serene - Pickerel Lake, which is located inside the Pigeon River State Forest Campground approximately four miles from Song of the Morning. If you decide to make the trip to Pickerel Lake, be sure you have a Michigan State Park Permit or ride with a friend who does.
Bring your bike to save time traveling to and from the various areas of the festival. Our dirt roads are suitable for touring bikes or mountain bikes, and for the adventurous biker, many of our trails are perfect for a more exhilarating afternoon excursion.
